Data We Collect
We collect minimal personal data, only when you voluntarily provide it:
Contact Form
When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content. This data is processed solely to respond to your inquiry.
Automatic Collection
Our server logs may automatically record your IP address, browser type, and access times for security and performance monitoring. This data is not linked to your personal identity and is retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Local Storage
The audio player uses browser local storage to remember your playback preferences (volume, shuffle, autoplay). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Partner Attribution
When you arrive through a partner link (?utm_source=...), the source tag is stored in your browser's session storage, for the current tab only. It's included anonymously in the aggregated listening stats and attached to contact emails you choose to send, so the project can measure which partner sent you here. It's not a cookie, it's cleared when the tab closes, and it's never linked to your identity.
Homepage CTA Experiment
An A/B copy test on the homepage's main button previously assigned one of two labels, stored in your browser's session storage, current tab only. The test is over; the winning label is now the only shipped button. Sessions from the test period remain in the analytics page's aggregated results. The label is not a cookie, it's cleared when the tab closes, and it's never linked to your identity.
Your wrap card
The /wrap page builds your wrap card from a local log of play starts (7vil4_play_history, capped at 2,000 entries, oldest removed first). A second key (7vil4_wrap_scope) remembers your selected year filter so it persists between visits. Neither key is ever transmitted. Sharing sends only the text shown on the card, with no attribution parameter.
Reaction tap
After two plays in a tab, a single tap asks whether you like the current track. Your answer, one per tab session, joins the aggregated listening summary as a like/dislike per track: no identity, no account, no history. The two session counters that gate it (tab plays, reaction sent) live in session storage and clear when the tab closes.
Post-reaction feedback
After tapping a reaction, one optional, dismissible question asks what makes 7vil4 worth it: never asking for your email, honest AI disclosure, the curation, or the sound. One answer per tab session, one theme, joining the aggregated listening summary as a per-theme count. Skipping also counts once, and the question never reappears. No identity, no account; the one-answer-per-session lock lives in session storage and clears when the tab closes.
Privacy-page visit signal
Visiting this page flags this tab's session in session storage. From then on, this tab's listening events carry only a boolean noting the privacy page was read this session: no identity, no account, no history. The aggregated listening summary uses it to compare listening and return behavior between sessions that read the page and those that didn't, and the flag clears when the tab closes.

Cookies & Tracking
This website does not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or social media trackers.
Knowing our listeners would mean watching them. We choose not to know.
Local Storage
We use browser local storage solely for audio player preferences. This is not a cookie and does not track you across websites.
Returning-listener measurement
A single first-party visit counter (stored in local storage, not a cookie) tells the site whether a listener is returning. The visit number rides on listening events and feeds an aggregated returning-listener rate on the analytics page: how many plays come from browsers that have been here before. It carries no identity, the counter itself stays in your browser, and the aggregate resets on every deploy.
Hosting and data location
The site runs on European infrastructure, with GDPR-compliant handling of the few data points it touches.
EU hosting isn't the cheapest option. We pay the difference so your data stays close.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
